Am I now a Mac and not a PC?

So I bought a computer the other day and after putting together the components I had to install an operating system. The obvious choice was Windows 7 since we already own a copy of it and the installation went quite smoothly. I then started loading the usual utilities you need for everyday use and what annoyed me first was the number of updates you have to download after the initial installation. I was in the middle of downloading my digital copy of MS Office and while I was out of the room Windows decided that it needed to reboot and I had to start the download again.

The next challenge was to install new games NJLA bought which are in Chinese. By default Windows is able to display Chinese characters in file names and in text files. But when I opened an application in Chinese it displayed all the text in funny characters. After spending some quality time on the Internet I finally worked out how to run Chinese programs properly.

I'm now happily typing on my Mac Pro where things just works. Why can't things just work in Windows? Why does it have to be so hard?

Kahunes, I am disappointed in you. I actually said to someone this past weekend that a few years ago, you (and Dirty Roy) were my go-to guys for computer help.

Now you're turning into one of those people who want a computer but don't know how to use them.

Haha so harsh! I got it working in the end but it really shouldn't be so hard!

It's okay kahunes - I know you're still light years ahead of me!
